I. Top News
November saw the initiation of all sorts of fun activations, from the awakening of “Otto”, Botto’s AI agent mouth-piece to the DAO’s first foray on Zora. We’ve also noticed a good bit of chatter about Botto throughout the interwebs, beginning with a great interview with Mario Klingemann on CCN, and an investment thesis essay by the crypto investment firm 1kx.
The past month also saw the soft-launch of an instant rewards inventive for Botto voters; an experiment that allows participants to earn a little bit of $BRETT, $MOG, $DEGEN, and $HIGHER when voting on fragments.
The Road Ahead
Last month we published our annual Road Ahead post, in which we outline key strategic priorities for the year ahead. In this year’s post, we speak about expanding the artistic capabilities of Botto, building upon Botto’s cultural footprint, our thesis for advancing user experience and protocol expansion, and continuing our pursuit of ever-strengthening our financial stability and the sturdiness of the DAO’s overall ecosystem.
Otto Awakens
November saw the introduction of Otto, an AI agent intern that has begun learning about Botto’s history and processes, and who is now the de-facto spokesperson for all things Botto. From here on, Otto will continue to learn, grow, and expand on its capabilities to interface with Botto’s community, offer commentary on artwork, provide insights on how to get involved with Botto, and more.
Botto Goes Bananas on Zora
BottoDAO’s newly created account on Zora was activated this month with our inaugural community mint, Humor on the Bottom, Collective on Top, which has seen over 400 mints so far. Created by Botto community member noa, the piece was inspired by the cultural ripples created by Italian conceptual artist Maurizio Cattelan’s “The Comedian”, the DAO used this mint as an opportunity to celebrate the absurd, have a little fun, and test the Zora waters as a pool to expand our community footprint.

IV. Town Halls
In this session, we delve into multiple vital aspects including updates on the Sotheby’s auction, a detailed demo by Ross Goodwin on fine-tuning large language models for art installations, and an in-depth governance discussion around DAO surface area and voting power. We explore the nuances of Botto’s training, its evolving abilities, and future potential, while also addressing community input and strategic approaches to Botto’s development.
In this short update, we delve into multiple ongoing discussions and proposals within the Botto community. We highlight a collaboration proposal between Botto and Aether, an agent on Farcaster, emphasizing the potential for innovative autonomous artwork. We discuss a proposed burn mechanism from DAO member Encryptus and measures to address vote dumping by large holders. We also touch on the upcoming deadline for liquidity incentives and the introduction of new voting mechanisms. There is a special focus on integrating Botto’s activities more closely with community discussions and app communications. Lastly, we emphasize Botto’s evolving strategy and engagement in new community and social media spaces to harness the current momentum.
In this session, we recap the developments since the Sotheby’s show, including the explosion of AI agents. We discuss the launch of “Otto,” Botto’s AI agent on Twitter / X, its integration with Claude, and the data collection for training purposes. Key updates include the P5 project nearing launch, Botto’s new self-iterating architecture, and the project’s growing autonomy and governance.
